ABU MUHAMMAD AL-ADNANI KILLED NEAR ALEPPO
* Abu Muhammad al-Adnani al-Shami, born 1977 or 1978 near Idlib in Northern Syria. His original name is Taha Subhi Falaha, is the official spokesman and a senior leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Sham in Arabic) , and its primary conduit for communicating official messages. He is also the emir of I.S.I.S in Syria. His mother is from Anbar province in Iraq.
In 05/2005 Abu Muhammad al-Adnani was arrested by the Coalition forces in Al Anbar Governorate in Iraq under a fake name “Yasser Khalaf Hussein Nazal al-Rawi”, and was released in 2010. In 12/2012, an Iraqi intelligence official said Abu Muhammad al-Adnani was using a number of aliases including “Abu Mohamed al-Adnani, Taha al-Banshi, Jaber Taha Falah, Abu Baker al-Khatab and Abu Sadek al-Rawi.
On 08/15/2014, the UN Security Council approved his addition to the Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee’s list of individuals.
On 08/18/2014, the US State Department listed Abu Muhammad al-Adnani as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist.
On 09/22/2014, Abu Muhammad al-Adnani released an important speech entitled ‘Indeed Your Lord Is Ever Watchful’, which was very significant as being the first official instruction by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria for its supporters to kill disbelievers in Western countries. Abu Muhammad al-Adnani said in his speech:
** According to various sources, on 08/30/2016, Abu Muhammad al-Adnani was killed, by an American UAV missiles attack, near Aleppo, Syria, in the town of Al-Bab, some 40 k”m North-East to Aleppo.
