– JORDANIAN POLICE CAPTAIN SHOT DEAD 5 COLLEAGUES

 A Jordanian policeman shot dead, on Monday 11/09/2015  during lunchtime, two U.S. instructors, a South African and two from Jordan  before being gunned down at a police training facility, 30 k”m east of the capital Amman in the Al-Mowaqqar compound, a government spokesman Mohammed Momani said. Two other American instructors and four Jordanians were injured in the shooting.

Momani quoted by Jordan’s state news agency Petra said the three instructors killed were on contract with Jordanian police

A U.S. official also said the two Americans were U.S. contractors and not government employees as stated by the U.S. embassy. The U.S. security contractor DynCorp International confirmed its personnel were fired on during the shooting.   

According to The Jordan Times, the shooter has been identified as Captain Anwar Abu Zaid, 28.  a graduate from the military branch of Mutah University and father of two children. His family lives in a small village in Jordan’s northern governorate of Jerash in the village of Rimoun.

The Al-Mowaqqar Police Academy staff is considered as trusted officers loyal to the Hashemite kingdome and under constant scrutiny of the local Security Services. The Attack Came on the 10-Year Anniversary of Jordan’s Worst Ever Terrorist Attack and possibly coincided to the meeting between USA President Barak Obama and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu .

The attack is a serious blow to the Jordanian regime and a source of serious concern .
