– A BOMBE DEFUSED ON AN IRANIAN FLIGHT
Security personnel defused, on Saturday 05/30/2009 at about 18:00, a homemade bomb found on an airplane during a domestic flight in Iran, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Sunday.
“Minutes after the … Kish Air flight took off with 131 passengers from the southwestern city of Ahvaz to Tehran, security personnel found a homemade bomb” on board, Fars reported. The device was defused after the aircraft made an emergency landing in back in Ahvaz, Fars said.
The incident happened two days after a bombing of a major Shiite Mosque in the southeastern city of Zahedan killed 25 people and wounded more than 120 others, two weeks before the Islamic state’s presidential election (see – Zahedan 05.28.09).
