NOOR UTHMAN MUHAMMED FACES CHARGES
Noor Uthman Muhammed was born in Kasala, Sudan, probably in the late 60s’, and is a Sudanese citizen. He was the depute commander of Al Qaeda’s Kalden training camp in Afghanistan from the mid 90s’ and worked as an instructor.
Noor Uthman Muhammed, also known as Zamir Muhammed, was captured after operation Absolute justice in Pakistan, in 03/2002, and handed over to USA authorities through "Extraordinary Rendition" and later transferred to Guantanamo. On 10/19/2004 his status in Guantanamo was reviewed by a special Combatant Status Review Tribunal and examined again on 11/14/2006.
On 05/23/2008 Noor Uthman Muhammed was formally charged, by a US Military prosecutor, of running a training camp for terrorists in Afghanistan and with conspiracy and providing support to terrorists. Under the current system at the Guantanamo Noor Uthman Muhammed suppose to face a US war-crimes tribunals, the first after World War II.
* On Friday 11/13/2009 USA Attorney General Eric Holder announced his decision to judge Noor Uthman Muhammed in a military court in a military facility in USA (see - Holder's NY Decision).
