Ali Imron
 Ali Imron, the younger brother of Ali Ghufron and Ali Amrozi, was born in 1970 in the sleepy village of Tenggulun, East Java. His older brother had strong influence on him.
Ali Imron was recruited to participate in attacks supposed to be carried out by the INDONESIAN JI by his older brother Ali Ghufron.
Ali Imron was arrested in 01/2003, with another fugitive of the Bali ‘02 Bombings, Mubarok, in Berukang Island off Samarinda in East Kalimantan, Borneo, where he had been lying low for about a week, probably attempting to flee with a boat to nearby Malaysia.
Ali Imron was accused of personally building one of the bombs used in the Bali ‘02 Bombings. In his interrogation Ali Imron expressed remorse for his actions and fully cooperated with the Indonesian police. He revealed that the original time for the attack was initially scheduled to the 09/11/2002, the first anniversary of The 9/11.
Ali Imron admitted the charges against him. During his trial he has broken down in tears on several occasions, telling judges he had been misguided and was only following his brothers instructions. Ali Imron also gave evidence against his brothers.
On 09/18/2003 Ali Imron was sentenced to life imprisonment for his role in the Bali ‘02 Bombings although the prosecution asked only for 20-year term. In return for his cooperation Ali Imron enjoyed improved conditions in jail including short leaves and the right to buy books.
