DULMATIN
 DUlmatin, his real name is Joko Pitoyo, was born in central Java in 1970 to a relative wealthy Family. He is the brother in law of Noordin Mohammed Top.
DUlmatin has only limited formal scientific education. He was a student activist on his Central Javanese university campus. DUlmatin dropped out of the university after being drawn into extremist teachings at al-Mukmin, the religious boarding school established by INDONESIAN JI founders Abdullah Sungkar and Abu Bakar Bashir. His acquintance with Dr Azahari Husin, Noordin Top and his tendency to electronics make him very soon also the electronic detonator expert of the organization.
In the late 1990s’ DUlmatin was trained in al-Qaeda camps in Afghanistan. He participated in assembling the bombs used in JK Christmas 2000 attack and is believed to have been one of the masterminds behind the Bali ‘02 Bombings. According to intelligence sourced DUlmatin participated in the lineup of the Marriott Hotel attack.
After the Marriott Hotel attack in 08/2003 DUlmatin fled to Mindanao in the Southern Philippines and, with his associates Zulkarnaen and Umar Patek , joined the activity of the local Abu Sayyaf group.
DUlmatin was the target of Philippines Armed Forces bombing raids in the Liguasan Marsh area in November 2004 and January 2005, where a hardline-member of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) was believed to have given him sanctuary.
USA justice department offered offered a $10 million reward for information leading directly to the apprehension of DUlmatin.
On 01/25/2007 DUlmatin was wounded in a gun battle with the Philippines military on the southern island of Jolo but was not caught. DUlmatin was killed, eventually, in a shootout with the Indonesian police near the capital Jakarta, on Tuesday 03/09/2010 (see - Dul-Matin Death).
