Nidal  Ayyad was born in 1968 in Kuwait to a Palestinian family. In 1985 Nidal  Ayyad immigrated legally to USA and began, soon after that, to study biochemical engineering in Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey.

In 07/1989 Nidal  Ayyad was filmed by FBI agents shooting weapons at the Calverton Shooting Range, on Long Island, New York. The group that included Mahmud Abuhalima , El Sayyid Nosair and Mohammed Salameh was secretly monitored as they shot AK-47 assault rifles and semiautomatic handguns.

In his free time Nidal  Ayyad volunteered in the “Al Kifah” association to raise money for the needy in Afghanistan that operated from Al Farook Mosque in Brooklyn, New York.

 Nidal  Ayyad graduated from Rutgers Univesity in 01/1991. After his graduation Nidal  Ayyad was employed as a research engineer for Allied Signal in Morristown, NJ. He primarily worked with chemicals used in pharmaceuticals and paints. After becoming a USA citizen, Nidal  Ayyad married in Amman, Jordan in 1992.

After the attack on the World Trade Center (WTC) on 02/26/1993 the investigation revealed that Nidal  Ayyad had a joint bank account with Mohammed Salameh . Few days before the attack on WCT, 02/26/1993, 8.000$ were transferred by wire from Europe into this joint bank account, which was later withdrawn by Mohammed Salameh.

Nidal  Ayyad accompanied Mohammed Salameh to rent the car used in the attack and his credit card was in Mohammed Salameh ’s pocket when he was arrested. Nidal  Ayyad was arrested the same day as Mohammed Salameh , on 03/04/1993.

Nidal  Ayyad was convicted in 03/1994 and sentenced to 240 years in jail. He is today (02/2007)  in a maximum-security U.S. penitentiary in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
